What is a scheduled order in an SMM panel?

A scheduled order is a normal order with a start time. The customer fills in the New Order form as usual (service, link, quantity) and picks the date and time the order should begin. The panel takes the payment straight away, holds the order, and sends it to the provider by itself when that time arrives.

Without scheduling, every order starts the moment it is placed. That is fine when the post already exists and the customer is at their desk. It is a problem when the post goes live at 9 pm, the customer is asleep at 3 am in their time zone, or a launch is planned for next Friday.

Why buyers want to schedule orders

People who buy from SMM panels plan their content. They post at the hour their audience is online, line up a product launch, or run a campaign that starts on a set day. With scheduling they can place the order whenever suits them, and it starts when the plan says.

The usual reasons:

  • The post is not live yet. The customer knows the link format or will publish at a fixed time, and wants delivery to start after that.
  • Time zones. An agency in one country runs accounts for clients in another, and orders can start at the client's peak hour without anyone staying up.
  • Launches and campaigns, such as views on a video premiere, members for a channel opening day, or engagement for a sale that starts at midnight.
  • Batching work. A reseller can queue a week of orders in one sitting instead of placing them one by one each day.

Scheduling changes when an order starts and nothing else. The same service rules, speeds and refill terms apply as for an order that starts at once.

How it works for the customer

On a panel with scheduling switched on, the New Order page has a Start later option:

  1. Choose the service, paste the link and enter the quantity, as normal.
  2. Switch on Start later and pick a date and time.
  3. Place the order. The amount is taken from the balance now, and the order shows as scheduled in the orders list with its start time.

Until it starts, the customer can cancel it from the orders page and get a full refund to their balance, because nothing has been sent to the provider yet. Once the start time passes and the order has gone to the provider, it behaves like any other order: statuses, partial refunds and refills follow the service's normal rules.

If the chosen time is too soon to be worth holding, the panel refuses it before any order is created, and the customer can place a normal order instead.

How it works for the panel owner

You don't run anything by hand. The panel's background jobs pick up each scheduled order when its time arrives and place it with the provider, the same way an instant order is placed. The customer paid when they ordered, so you already hold the money.

A cancel before the start time refunds the full amount and nothing is ever sent, so there is no provider order to chase.

Scheduled orders are listed on the admin orders page with their start time, kept apart from orders that failed to send, so staff do not resend them by mistake. If you would rather not offer scheduling, switch it off in the admin settings. Orders that are already scheduled still start at their time.

Scheduling is for normal orders. Drip-feed orders already have their own timing (runs and an interval), and subscription-style services follow their own rules, so they do not get a start time. If you want to spread one order out over days, see how drip-feed works.

Tips for selling scheduled orders

  • Say it on your homepage and order page, because buyers do not look for a feature they do not know exists. One line such as "Schedule orders to start when your post goes live" is enough.
  • Keep the price fair. The customer pays at order time, so the price is the one shown when they ordered. If your provider changes rates often, keep an eye on services people schedule far ahead.
  • Mention the refund rule. "Cancel before it starts for a full refund" removes the main worry about paying in advance.
  • Watch provider status. A scheduled order starts with whichever provider the service uses at that moment. If the provider cannot take it then, it is handled like any order that failed to send: temporary errors are retried automatically, and anything else shows in admin for you to resend or refund. See what to do when a provider is down.
  • Tell resellers. Agencies and resellers get the most out of scheduling, because they place the most orders for other people.

Scheduled orders vs drip-feed vs mass orders

These three are easy to mix up:

What it controls Best for
Scheduled order When one order starts Timing delivery to a post, launch or time zone
Drip-feed How one order is split into runs over time Spreading delivery gently over hours or days
Mass order Many orders placed in one go Bulk work across many links at once

A buyer who wants delivery to start at 9 pm and finish quickly wants a scheduled order. A buyer who wants 10,000 views spread over a week wants drip-feed. For bulk work, see mass orders on an SMM panel.

FAQ

Can customers schedule an SMM order for later?

Yes, on panels that have scheduling switched on. The customer picks a start date and time on the New Order page, pays now, and the order starts by itself at that time.

Is the customer charged when they schedule?

Yes. The amount is taken from their balance when they place the order. If they cancel before the start time, the full amount goes back to their balance.

What happens if the provider is down at the start time?

It is handled like any order that failed to reach the provider: temporary errors are retried automatically, and anything else shows in admin so you can resend it or refund the customer. Once it reaches the provider it continues as a normal order.

Can I turn scheduled orders off?

Yes. There is a switch in the admin settings. Turning it off hides the option for new orders; orders already scheduled still start on time.
