A child panel is the product your best customers eventually ask for. They have been buying from you for a few months, they have their own buyers, and they want a storefront with their name on it instead of forwarding orders by hand.
You can sell them that storefront. Done well, it pays you twice: once for the panel itself, and again on every order their customers place, because a child panel buys its services from your panel.
This guide covers who buys child panels, how to price them, what happens between "order placed" and "panel live", and the mistakes that eat the margin.
What a child panel actually is
A child panel is a smaller SMM panel that runs on its own domain and gets its services from a parent panel through the parent's API. The buyer brands it, sets their own prices and runs their own customers. Underneath, every order they receive is placed on your panel.
That last point is the business case. If you want the background first, read What Is a Child Panel? and Child Panel vs Main Panel. The short version:
- The buyer gets a branded panel without hosting, scripts or provider contracts.
- You get a monthly fee for the panel plus your normal margin on every order that flows through it.
- The buyer's customers never see your panel. They see the buyer's brand.
Who buys child panels
Not everyone who asks is a good fit. The buyers who stay are usually:
- Active resellers who already resell your services in WhatsApp or Telegram groups and are tired of placing orders manually.
- Small agencies that want a client portal with their own logo.
- Influencer managers who handle many accounts and want one place to order and track.
The poor fit is someone with no customers yet who expects the panel itself to bring them sales. A child panel is a tool for people who already sell. Say so up front and you will avoid most refund requests.
What the buyer needs before ordering
A child panel goes live on the buyer's own domain, so they need three things:
- A domain they control. They must be able to change its nameservers at their registrar. Our domain guide covers naming and registrar choice.
- An account on your panel with an API key. The child panel uses that key to place orders on your panel.
- Admin login details they want for their new panel: a username and a password.
Send buyers this checklist before they pay. Most setup delays come from a domain bought through a reseller who will not let the buyer change nameservers.
How an order works on PanelLaunch
On a PanelLaunch panel, child-panel selling is automated end to end. Here is the flow your buyer goes through and what happens on your side.
1. The buyer orders on your panel. They pick the child panel option in your panel, enter their domain and admin details, and pay you from their panel balance at the price you set.
2. PanelLaunch bills you the base cost. The base cost for a child panel is ₹799 per month. It is taken automatically from your PanelLaunch balance (credit first, then wallet). If your balance doesn't cover it, the order waits for payment and you get an invoice by email.
3. The buyer points their domain. Once the base cost is paid, the order shows the two nameservers the buyer must set at their registrar. Your panel shows them the exact values.
4. The panel is built. As soon as the domain points to the right nameservers, the child panel is deployed with SSL. The status moves from waiting for domain, to deploying, to active, and the buyer sees each step in your panel.
5. It renews monthly. The base cost renews every month from your PanelLaunch balance, so keep your wallet topped up. You can add funds from your PanelLaunch dashboard under Wallet.
Two safety nets protect you and the buyer:
- If you don't fund an order within 48 hours, it is cancelled automatically and your panel refunds the buyer.
- If a panel can't be set up, PanelLaunch retries automatically. If it still fails after 24 hours, the base cost goes back to your PanelLaunch balance as credit.
Child-panel selling is switched on per panel. If you don't see it in your admin yet, ask PanelLaunch support to turn it on.
How to price a child panel
You set your own selling price. Start from three numbers:
- The base cost: ₹799 per month per child panel.
- Your support time: child-panel buyers ask more questions than ordinary customers, especially in the first two weeks.
- The order margin you'll earn from the child panel's customers, which arrives on top of the panel fee.
An illustrative example: if you charge ₹1,299 per month for a child panel, you keep ₹500 a month per panel before the order margin. If that buyer's customers then spend ₹20,000 a month through your services at a 15% markup, that is another ₹3,000 of margin. The order margin often matters more than the panel fee, which is why some resellers price child panels close to cost to win the buyer.
Three pricing rules hold up well:
- Never sell below the base cost. You pay ₹799 every month whether or not the buyer's panel makes sales.
- Charge monthly, not one time. The base cost is monthly, so your price should be too.
- Keep service prices for child panels competitive. A child panel owner compares your API prices with other providers. If your markup is too high, they'll move their volume elsewhere and keep the panel only as a storefront.
Support: decide who handles what
Write down the split before you sell your first panel:
- The buyer's customers contact the buyer. Never support the end customers of a child panel directly; that is the buyer's business.
- The buyer contacts you about orders, services, API errors and refills, exactly as a normal API customer would.
- Domain and setup problems usually come down to nameservers. Keep a short message ready that explains where to change them at common registrars.
A saved reply for "my panel is still waiting for domain" will save you hours.
Common mistakes
Selling to buyers without a domain plan. The order stalls at the nameserver step and the buyer blames you. Send the checklist first.
Letting your balance run low. New orders wait for payment and renewals can't be paid. Keep enough balance for a month of renewals plus a few new orders.
Pricing services too high for API users. Child-panel owners compare per-thousand prices carefully. See How to Price Your SMM Panel Services.
Promising features the child panel doesn't have. A child panel is a smaller panel than yours. Describe it accurately, and if a buyer needs everything, point them to their own full panel instead.
Frequently asked questions
Do my child-panel buyers need hosting?
No. The child panel is hosted for them. They need a domain and an account with an API key on your panel.
Can a child panel use other providers?
A child panel gets its services from your panel. That is what makes every order profitable for you.
What happens if the buyer stops paying me?
You decide your own terms with your buyer. On the PanelLaunch side, the base cost renews monthly from your balance, so if you stop offering a panel, contact support to close it rather than leaving the renewal running.
How long does setup take?
Once the base cost is paid, the panel is deployed as soon as the buyer's domain points to the nameservers shown. Nameserver changes usually take effect within a few hours, sometimes longer depending on the registrar.
The short version
Sell child panels to customers who already have buyers, price them monthly above the ₹799 base cost, and keep your PanelLaunch balance topped up so orders and renewals pay themselves. The panel fee is the smaller part; the orders that flow through your API every month are where the real margin is.
