"Create SMM panel free" is one of the most searched phrases around starting a panel, and it is easy to see why. If you are testing an idea, you do not want to pay before you know it works.
The honest answer is that you can start an SMM panel for very little, but not for nothing. Every "free" option either limits you, ties you to one supplier, takes a cut of your sales or hands you the costs in another form. This guide walks through each free option, what it really costs, and the cheapest setup that works as a real business.
The costs nobody can make free
Before looking at platforms, three costs exist whatever you choose:
- Provider balance. Your panel does not create followers or views. It resells services from an upstream provider, and you pay that provider for every order. You need a starting balance, even a small one, before you can sell anything.
- A domain. You can start on a free subdomain, but customers trust
yourbrand.comfar more thanyourbrand.someplatform.com. A domain costs roughly ₹800–1,200 a year for a .com, less for some other endings. - Payment gateway fees. Gateways take a small percentage of each deposit, whichever panel you use.
So "free" really means "free software and hosting". That part can be free. Running the business cannot.
Free option 1: a free child panel from a provider
Some SMM providers give away child panels, or offer one for a token amount if you spend enough with them each month.
What you get: a branded storefront that is live quickly.
The catch:
- It can only buy from that one provider. You cannot switch suppliers when their prices rise or a service breaks.
- Features are usually limited. Child panels are designed as small resale fronts, not full panels.
- The "free" price often depends on a minimum monthly spend with the provider.
It is a reasonable way to test demand for a few weeks. It is a poor foundation for a business you want to grow.
Free option 2: a free tier on a rental platform
A few rental platforms offer a free plan capped at a very low number of orders, often around 100 a month, sometimes on a free subdomain.
What you get: a real panel to learn on.
The catch: 100 orders a month is a test, not a business. As soon as you have customers, you move to a paid plan, and the price ladder often climbs with every tier of orders. Check what that next tier costs before you build your customer base on the platform.
Free option 3: a free script and free hosting
Free scripts on GitHub combined with free web hosting look like the truly free route. In practice it rarely works:
- Free hosting usually blocks or limits cron jobs, which a panel needs to sync orders and verify payments.
- Many free hosts do not allow the outgoing connections a panel needs to talk to providers.
- Free scripts are often incomplete or abandoned, without security updates.
- You do all the installation, configuration and repairs yourself.
It is a good way to learn how a panel works on a test server. We explain the script options in SMM Panel Script in 2026.
Free option 4: "zero fee until you earn"
Some platforms charge nothing up front but take a percentage of your sales, sometimes with a small activation fee. It sounds risk-free, and at very low volume it can be.
Do the maths at the volume you are aiming for. At 5% commission:
| Monthly sales | Commission at 5% |
|---|---|
| ₹10,000 | ₹500 |
| ₹50,000 | ₹2,500 |
| ₹2,00,000 | ₹10,000 |
A commission grows with your success. A flat monthly fee does not. Once your panel is selling steadily, a commission model is usually the most expensive option.
Free option 5: nulled scripts
Cracked copies of paid scripts are free to download and expensive to run. They are a common way to plant backdoors that steal provider balances and customer data. Do not use them. See Perfect Panel Nulled: Why Cracked Scripts Will Cost You.
The cheapest setup that actually works
If you want the lowest real cost with no technical work, the setup that works for most new owners is:
- A low-cost rental panel on a flat monthly price, so your cost does not rise with every new customer.
- Your own domain, so the brand you build belongs to you.
- One reliable provider to start, tested with small orders.
- A small provider balance, enough for your first customers' orders.
- One payment method your customers already use, such as UPI in India.
On PanelLaunch that means the Starter plan at ₹449 a month ($5), with hosting, SSL, backups, updates, three storefront themes, child panel selling, coupons and an affiliate program included, and up to 50,000 orders a month. There is no setup fee. If you pay for a year, you get two and a half months free.
How to keep start-up costs low
- Start with one provider. Add more only when you need specific services.
- Do not pre-load a big balance. Top up your provider as orders come in.
- Skip paid ads at first. Your first customers usually come from people you already know. See How to Get Your First SMM Panel Customers.
- Use a referral program so customers bring customers, and you only pay commission on real deposits. See SMM Panel Affiliate Program.
- Track profit, not deposits, from the first week. See How to Track Profit on Your SMM Panel.
Quick answers
Can I create an SMM panel completely free? You can get free software and hosting, but you will still need a provider balance and, ideally, a domain. Free options also come with limits or long-term costs.
What is the cheapest way to start? A low-cost rental panel on your own domain, one provider and a small starting balance.
Is a free child panel good enough? For testing, yes. For growth, no, because you are locked to one provider.
